We're Stuck on Stucco

Stucco, commonly referred to as plaster, can be applied to flat or curved surfaces on the interior or exterior of a home or building. It is desirable because it does not rot, rust, is durable in all climates and is fire resistant. Stucco is generally made from cement, sand and lime mixed with water, although mixtures can vary depending on the stucco applications. Stucco can come in hundreds of different colors and textures, and can imitate the look of wood, brick or stone. Stucco has been around for centuries, because of its utility, low cost and minimum need for maintenance.

At Four Seasons Painting & Home Improvement, we can apply, install, and repair stucco. In fact, many homes throughout Roswell, Alpharetta, Atlanta and Marietta exemplify our stucco craftsmanship both inside and out. One of our favorite combinations for a home exterior finish is to combine smooth stucco and stone veneer to create an old world, Tuscan feel.

Applying stucco is somewhat of an art and is best left to the professionals at Four Seasons Painting & Home Improvement. We have the skills to blend the ideal mixture for your home or office. Although stucco is something you could learn how to do, it takes a lot of practice to make it look right. Stucco is usually applied in "layers", so if the first layer is done incorrectly, there is no hope for the finished product!

Exceptional Stucco & Plaster Work

Stucco exteriors. Why is stucco so popular for home or commercial exteriors? We know that the weather in Atlanta is unpredictable, bringing snow, sleet and pounding rain at times. Stucco sheds water, is hard, impact-resistant, fire retentive and retains color well. Because it is breathable, water does not get trapped behind it. Therefore, stucco is resistant to rot and fungus, helping to protect air quality indoors and is able to withstand the rigors of wind or cold. Stucco can be tinted to a wide array of colors and the textures can be varied depending on whether a hawk and trowel or sprayer is used. You tell us the look you're trying to create and we'll create the feel.

Stucco on the interior. Most commonly, stucco can be used for texturing interior walls, ceilings, borders and crown moldings. Many interior designers use stucco to add subtle color and different textures to walls throughout the house. Stucco does not need paint; instead, you get to choose the color stucco that you would like and it is tinted before you apply it to the walls. Applying a stucco finish to the interior of the home is an excellent way to restore ordinary walls, or cover up unsightly gouges and cracks.

Whether you're looking to install stucco siding, create a stucco exterior or stucco interior, or repair or re-stucco, consult the stucco specialists at Four Seasons Painting & Home Improvement.
